Ireland Fellows Program Scholarship 2025 – A Gateway to Leadership in Ireland

The Ireland Fellows Program Scholarship 2025 is a great opportunity for young professionals and future leaders. This program allows selected individuals from eligible countries to study for one full year at the postgraduate level in Ireland. It is fully funded, which means that tuition fees, living costs, travel, and other related expenses are all covered by the Irish government.

Eligible for Ireland Fellows Programme

Nationality
You must be a citizen and resident of one of the following countries: Angola, Burundi, DRC, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.

Special Country Rules
Applicants from Burundi, Nigeria, Zambia must also review country-specific fellowships.
Namibia, South Africa, and African SIDS (e.g. Mauritius, Seychelles) follow their own fellowship pages.

Work Experience
You need 2–3 years of strong and relevant work experience. This varies by country.

Education
A bachelor’s degree (awarded after 2014) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Second class lower may be accepted if your work experience is highly relevant.
Applicants from Senegal must have at least a Master 2 or Master 1 with solid experience.

Study Level
You cannot already hold or be studying for a master’s degree or higher.
You must be applying for a new master’s starting in August 2026.

Leadership and Goals
You must show leadership skills, a clear commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and interest in building positive ties with Ireland.

Program Choice
You must choose three eligible master’s programs from the approved list and understand the academic and English requirements.

Previous Applications
You can only apply if you’ve applied once or never before.

Restricted Countries
In some countries, like Kenya, Liberia, or Malawi, only those working with Irish Aid partners or pre-approved NGOs can apply. Check with the Irish Embassy or your employer.

Family Members
This scholarship does not support spouses or children.
