The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) offers an incredible opportunity for international students to pursue master’s and doctoral studies in China. The High-Level Postgraduate Program at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) is designed for students with strong academic records, professional skills, and clear future goals. Eligibility Requirements
To apply for this scholarship, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Be a citizen of a country other than China.
- Be in good physical and mental health.
- Academic qualifications and age limits:
- Master’s degree applicants: Must hold a bachelor’s degree with excellent grades and be under 35 years old.
- Doctoral degree applicants: Must hold a master’s degree with outstanding academic performance and be under 40 years old.
- Language requirements:
- Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 or above.
- English-taught programs: Minimum TOEFL 86 or IELTS 6.0, with sufficient proficiency to study professional courses in English.

- Chinese-taught: International Relations, International Development, International Law, Economic Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Public Administration, International Chinese Language Education, International Trade, Finance, International Business, Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Foreign Linguistics, Business Translation.
- English-taught: International Relations, International Development, International Law, Public Administration, Customs Management, IMBA (minimum 3 years work experience required), Digital Economy, Finance, World Economy, Industrial Economics, Transport Economics and Logistics, International Business, Actuarial Science & Risk Management.
Doctoral Programs:
- Chinese-taught: International Relations, International Development, International Law, Economic Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Labor Economics, International Trade, Finance, Actuarial Science & Risk Management.

Scholarship Benefits
This scholarship is fully funded and includes:
- Tuition fees

- Master’s: 3,000 RMB/month
- Doctoral: 3,500 RMB/month

How to Apply
The application process consists of three main steps:
- Online Application:
- Apply via the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System here.
- Select program category Type B and enter Agency No. 10036.
- Complete the application in English or Chinese (handwritten forms are not accepted).
- Submit Documents to UIBE:

- Preliminary Review and Interview:
- UIBE will review applications and conduct interviews.
- Successful candidates will receive a pre-admission letter, which must be uploaded to the CSC system.
Deadline: All applications must be completed by February 28, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.
Required Documents
Applicants need to submit clear, scanned PDFs of the following:
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form
- Passport Copy – must be valid until after September 30, 2026
- Diplomas and Certificates – notarized copies with English translations if applicable
- Academic Transcripts – from undergraduate and postgraduate studies
- Language Certificates – HSK, TOEFL, or IELTS, depending on program language
- Study Proposal – at least 1,000 words, detailing academic background and research plans
- Recommendation Letters – two letters from professors or associate professors
- Additional Supporting Documents – publications, awards, or research results
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form – valid within 6 months, completed and signed by a licensed physician
- Non-Criminal Record Certificate – valid within 6 months
Tip: Make sure all scans are clear, legible, and in PDF format. Applications with unclear or incomplete documents may be rejected.
Important Notes
- Only one scholarship per student is allowed. Applying to multiple programs simultaneously can lead to disqualification.
- CGS recipients cannot receive other Chinese government or university scholarships simultaneously, except one-time awards.
- A pre-admission letter does not guarantee final admission; the formal admission notice from UIBE is final.
