About the Daad Scholarship
Are you interested in improving health in cities around the world? Do you want to study in Germany with a full scholarship? Great news! Applications are now open for the Master of Science in Global Urban Health (MSc GUH) at the University of Freiburg for the 2026-27 academic year. This program is part of the prestigious DAAD EPOS Scholarship, which supports students from developing countries who want to make a positive change in their home countries.
Benefits of the Daad Scholarship
- A monthly stipend of €992 to cover your living expenses while studying

- Health insurance
- Accident insurance
- Personal liability insurance
Who Can Apply for the DAAD Scholarship?
- You must work for a public authority or private company in a developing country.
- Your job must involve planning or doing development-related work.
- You need a relevant Bachelor’s degree.
- The degree should be four years long.
- Your grades must be very good (top one-third of your class).
- You need at least two years of work experience after your degree.
- Your last academic degree should not be older than six years.
- If you have lived in Germany for more than 15 months, you cannot apply.
- You must have English language skills:
- IELTS: at least Band 6
- TOEFL: minimum 550 (paper), 213 (computer), or 80 (internet)

- Motivation letter
- Recommendation letter from your employer
- Letter must have signature, stamp, and be on official letterhead
- Proof of at least 2 years of work experience
- Language certificate (IELTS or TOEFL)
- German certificate (only if course is in German)
- Copies of university degree certificates
- Translations if not in English or German
- Full transcripts of records
- Include grading system if not shown
- APS certificate (only for applicants from China)
