Level A – Full Support

Application Deadlines

• Level A Fellowship:

  • Fall semester: Jan 1 – Mar 31

  • Spring semester: July 1 – Sept 30

• Level B, C, or self-funded: Apply at least 3 months before your start date.

Internship Duration

• 3 months to 1 year

Eligibility

• Non-Chinese citizens with a foreign passport

• Age 18–40 years

• Good health, no criminal record

• Currently in Year 3/4 undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD programs

Visa, Insurance, and Accommodation

• Visa: Apply for a Chinese Student Visa (JW202) with your admission notice. Keep it valid during your stay.

• Insurance: Students pay the fee; USTC helps purchase the insurance.

• Accommodation:

  • Level A/B: On-campus rooms first-come, first-served

  • Level C / self-funded: Off-campus; USTC provides support finding housing

  • Off-campus students must register at the local police station with full address and contact number
