The University of Coimbra in Portugal is offering a research grant under the project ATE – Aliança para a Transição Energética. There is one position available. This grant is for students or graduates in fields like Electrical and Computer Engineering, Energy for Sustainability, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Informatics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics.

The work will take place in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Coimbra. The main goal is to work on embedded systems and power electronics. Candidates will program control algorithms on a Xilinx FPGA, build a graphical interface, and conduct experiments on a power electronics transformer for vessels.
The grant lasts 9 months and may be renewed. The monthly payment is 1,040.98€, and it includes voluntary social security and personal accident insurance if the grant lasts six months or more. The grant is funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan and Next Generation EU Funds. All publications must mention this support.
Selection is based on academic record (60%) and interview (40%). Candidates must show leadership, motivation, and technical knowledge. Preference is given to those with experience in Xilinx FPGA and Matlab/Simulink, as well as power electronics.
