Applying to more than one program? Send a separate scholarship form for each program.
Send scholarship documents separately from admission documents to the Center for Student Affairs within the deadline.
Late applications are not accepted under any condition.

For All Applicants
Application Form – Typed, not handwritten. Include family details, personal history from high school, and career experience.
Transcript of Records – Original or certified copy showing GPA.
Income Certificate (2024) – For dependent, married, or independent students. Must be in English or Japanese (attach translation if needed).
If Parents/Spouse/Supporter Lives in Japan 4. Residence Certificate – List all family members. 5. Taxation or Tax Exemption Certificate (2024) – Show total income for 2024. 6. Withholding Tax Certificate / Income Tax Return / Pension Document – Submit all that apply for 2024. 7. Enrollment Certificate – If siblings are in high school or university.

How to Submit a Sophia University Scholarship Application
By Postal Mail – Use a traceable service. Send only scholarship documents (no admission papers) to the given address. Mark the envelope in red: Application for the New Student Scholarship (Reference No.) to the (Course) in (Program). Domestic: postmark by deadline. Overseas: must arrive by deadline.
In Person – If you are in Japan, please submit your application directly to the office during working hours before the deadline.
By Email – Only if other methods are not possible. Subject line same as the postal format. Must arrive within the application period (Japan time). No late or failed email submissions will be accepted.
