Who Can Apply?
Only for students who are not Japanese citizens.
Must be accepted or plan to study in a Japanese graduate school.
Master’s students must be under 30 years old.
PhD students must be under 35 years old.
Study period must be longer than 12 months.
Students must show a plan to help their home country in the future.
Basic Japanese conversation is required because interviews are in Japanese.
Scholarship Amount
¥230,000 per month for 1–2 years.
¥210,000 per month for 3 years.
¥180,000 per month for 4–5 years.
Payment plan cannot be changed after it starts.
Around 10 students will win this scholarship.
