The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program 2026–2027 is now open for applications! This amazing opportunity is a fully funded scholarship for students from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). About the Scholarship

The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program (TLP) is sponsored by the U.S.–Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), a program of the U.S. Department of State. It aims to develop capable, open-minded, and community-driven leaders who can help build a better future for their countries.

Selected students study at one of three top universities:

  • The American University in Cairo (AUC)

  • The American University of Beirut (AUB)

  • The Lebanese American University (LAU)

In addition to their degree, participants take part in internships, leadership workshops, and community service projects that help them apply their classroom learning in real-life situations.

Host Country

The program takes place in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, mainly in Egypt and Lebanon.

Students will study at one of these American-style universities:

  • The American University in Cairo (Egypt)

  • The American University of Beirut (Lebanon)

  • The Lebanese American University (Lebanon)

Scholarship Type

This is a fully funded leadership scholarship covering all major expenses, including tuition, housing, travel, insurance, and monthly allowance.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Be citizens of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank/Gaza, or Yemen.

  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents are not eligible.

  • Undergraduate applicants must be current high school seniors or have graduated recently (in 2024 or 2025).

  • Strong academic record and leadership potential.

  • Able to show financial need.

  • English proficiency: minimum TOEFL iBT score of 80 (valid within two years).

  • Ready to begin studies in August 2026.
