Who Can Apply for Yale Young Global Scholars 2026
Age: 16–18 years old by July 19, 2026.

Northern Hemisphere: graduate in May/June 2027 or 2028
Southern Hemisphere: graduate in Nov./Dec. 2026 or 2027
First Time: Must be a first-time YYGS participant. Previous attendees cannot apply.
Re-apply: If you applied before but were not accepted or could not attend, you can try again.
Open to All: Students from all countries can apply. Financial aid is available for those in need.

Essays: One 400-word essay + one 200-word short response.
Quick Answers: Two “fast take” responses (280 characters each).
Transcript: Official school grades record.
Recommendation: One teacher or mentor using the YYGS online form only.
Application Fee: $80 for Early Action, $95 for Regular Decision (non-refundable).
